Farid M. Khan, M.D.

Dr. Khan specializes in diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous and treats eye conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal detachment. He is also interested in the continued development and improvement of surgical approaches to macular holes and retinal detachments, as well as optimizing treatment of macular edema, macular degeneration, and intraocular inflammation.

Dr. Khan received his undergraduate degree at Washington University in St. Louis. He went on to obtain his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. He completed both his internship and ophthalmology residency at Tulane University School of Medicine. Following his residency, Dr. Khan completed a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Prior to joining Carolina Ophthalmology, Dr. Khan served as a staff ophthalmologist and retina specialist at the Omaha Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Nebraska. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. 

Dr. Khan enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, learning to cook new recipes, biking, being outdoors, and discovering beautiful views.
